Last original Heritage Commissioner steps down

Dorothy Duffy smiles after being honored for her years of service on the Laconia Heritage Commission. Duffy is shown with a commemorative inscribed Pepi Herrmann crystal vase which was presented to her at the commission's meeting last Wednesday by Commission Chairman Michael Sweet, left. Duffy, the last of the panel's original members, recently stepped down. The commission, which is composed of five regular members, three alternates and a city councilor, was created in 2008 to ensure the proper recognition, use and protection of buildings and other resources that are valuable for their historic, cultural, aesthetic, or community significance.
