GILFORD — Have you ever been to a concert where you know the lyrics to every single song? That’s the magic of KIDZ BOP, a pop music phenomenon which puts teens centerstage to sing radio hits and fan favorites during a positive, family-friendly show.

BankNH Pavilion at Meadowbrook hosted the Certified BOP tour July 3, with thousands of kids, teens and their parents descending on the amphitheater for the night.

Characters from Snoop Dogg’s “Doggyland” 3D animated series got the crowd warmed up starting at 6 p.m. The rapper’s child-friendly project focuses on social emotional development and learning for preschoolers and up.

Clad in metallic silver outfits, the KIDZ BOP kids started the night with an original song before transitioning to Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night,” then Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” and “Shake It Off.”

The lyrics to some — well, most — of the songs at KIDZ BOP live have been changed to be friendlier to little ears.

The four mini MCs offer the audience a way to participate throughout the show. During the Jukebox segment, using a scannable code displayed on the big screen onstage and the pair on each side, parents could use their smartphones to vote on the next song. After the first poll, the results were displayed, with Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” beating out “Apple” by Charli XCX as the next tune by a reported 73% vote.

KIDZ BOP alumni have gone on to have successful careers, including Zendaya, who was featured in a KIDZ BOP music video for Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold.”

The Daddy Dance Off was another popular feature of the show, featuring SiriusXM radio hosts like Andy Cohen and Downtown Julie Brown who challenged dads to show off their best moves onstage.

The dance contest covered a costume change for the MCs, who returned to the stage in ‘90s-inspired styles, reminiscent of NSYNC’s early music videos.

The Certified BOP tour performers are Aleah, Cliff, Matty and Shila.

Chappell Roan covers were popular that night, with the kids singing “Pink Pony Club” followed by “HOT TO GO!” Some lyrics flashed on the screen behind the MCs, helping the audience sing along. Kids and their minders alike danced and trilled the lyrics.

The KIDZ BOP kids are multitalented. Various members of the group picked up drumsticks, guitars and even took to a keyboard for certain songs.

After a short break perfectly timed for families to get a snack, visit the facilities or just get the wiggles out, the quartet returned to the stage in Western wear, kicking off their second set with Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.”

More Chappell Roan was on the menu with a rendition of “Good Luck Babe,” complete with a shower of yellow confetti to energize the audience.

The Jukebox was back, this time pitting Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire” against “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan. Despite Kahan’s Vermont roots, Rodrigo won out with a reported 85% vote. The kids then bopped right into Rodrigo’s mega hit “Good 4 U.”

Covers of Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Jason Derulo continued the fun.

The final Jukebox poll asked audience members with smartphones to vote for either Paul Russel’s “Lil Boo Thang” or “Feel It Still,” a song by Portugal. The Man which samples its melody from the Marvelettes' 1961 hit "Please Mr. Postman." “Boo Thang” earned 65% of reported votes.

The night wound down, conveniently before bedtime, with what the MCs described as their most requested song: “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. It’s hard to tell who was having more fun: the kids or their grownups, because the whole venue was on their feet and dancing as smoke cannons shot from the stage in a final celebration.

The Certified BOP tour continues with dates through September, and the official playlist is available on Spotify.
