Alton Climate

A contractor hired by the state wets freshly graded dirt on a hot July day during repairs to the destroyed portion of Route 140 in Alton after recent heavy rainstorms. At least 40 town roads were damaged, while highways across the state were battered by intense rainfall. Some say this is just wild New England weather, but climatologists and other experts say such incidents will only become more common as climate change rears its ugly head.
