NEW HAMPTON — The Lakes Region experienced heavy rain and slippery conditions Monday, which may have led to an accident on Interstate 93 that sent one person to the hospital.

A vehicle was reported going off the road and hitting a tree near mile marker 70 on I-93, at 11:52 a.m. on Oct. 20, according to State Police Public Information Officer Michal Sventek.

Two people were injured, and one was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

“Weather was a contributing factor,” Sventek said. “The crash remains under investigation.”
