BARNSTEAD — State Police are holding a Chichester resident following a chase which took officers through three towns.
State Police dispatchers learned Sunday morning that officers from the Loudon Police Department were pursuing a vehicle along Route 106 in Loudon. During the pursuit, officers reported the driver — later identified as Dylan Beaudet, 31 — crossed into the opposite lane of travel and drove in the wrong direction multiple times.Â
The pursuit entered Chichester and continued into Pittsfield, where State Troopers continued the pursuit. The chase was eventually terminated for public safety reasons, according to a press release.Â
Shortly after Beaudet's pursuit was terminated, State Troopers located the suspect's vehicle abandoned on Tilton Hill Road in Pittsfield. A State Police working dog responded to the scene and started tracking Beaudet. He was eventually located on Bow Lake Road in Barnstead.Â
Custody of Beaudet was transferred to the Loudon Police Department for processing, and State Police anticipate filing charges against him as their investigation progresses, a spokesperson wrote in a news release.Â
Loudon police did not return a request for information.
Members of Troop D were assisted by local law enforcement officers from Loudon, Chichester and Pittsfield, as well as State Troopers assigned to the Troop E barracks. Anyone who may have any further information is asked to contact Sgt. Kenneth McGrath at Kenneth.T.McGrath@DOS.NH.GOV or Trooper Eric Wicks at Eric.C.Wicks@DOS.NH.GOV, or contact State Police dispatch at 603-223-4381.
