The Slow Horses are coming back soon.
Apple TV+ is a fan of handing out early renewals to Slow Horses, which has been a hit from the start. (Seasons 3 and 4 were picked up at the same time in 2022 ahead of the second dropping.) It was renewed for its fifth season just days after its third ended in January 2024, and now, on Wednesday, September 3, the streaming service released its trailer ahead of its premiere later this month.

When will Slow Horses Season 5 premiere?
Slow Horses Season 5 will premiere on Wednesday, September 24, with the first two episodes. The season consists of six episodes, with one then dropping weekly after premiere. The finale will be available to stream on Wednesday, October 22.
On which book is Slow Horses Season 5 based?
The series is adapted from Mick Herron’s books. Season 5 is based on the fifth novel from his series, London Rules.
What is Season 5 about?
Slow Horses is described as a darkly humorous espionage drama following a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known unaffectionately as Slough House. Apple TV+’s description of Season 5 reads as follows: “Everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho [Christopher Chung] has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected. After all, Lamb [Gary Oldman] knows that in the world of espionage, “London Rules” should always apply.”
Who’s in the Slow Horses Season 5 cast?
Gary Oldman will be back as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.
In addition to Oldman and Christopher Chung, the ensemble cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas (Diana Taverner), Jack Lowden (River Cartwright), Saskia Reeves (Catherine Standish), Rosalind Eleazar (Louisa Guy), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Shirley Dander), Ruth Bradley (Emma Flyte), James Callis (Claude Whelan), Tom Brooke (J.K. Coe), and Jonathan Pryce (David Cartwright). Nick Mohammed is a special guest star. See him in the photo below.

Is there a Season 5 trailer?
Yes, there is. Apple TV+ released it on September 3.
Diana puts Slough House in lockdown. “If this is an on the spot performance review, I have to tell you, I’m absolutely killing it right now,” Lamb remarks.
After 11 people are killed and Roddy is somehow connected — the biggest surprise? he has a girlfriend — it seems that they’re dealing with people using an old MI5 destabilization strategy. It’s what they’d do to countries opposing their interest. “We’ve killed and plundered and blackmailed, and now it’s being done to us,” says Lamb.
But David has a warning: “If we were dealing with really tricky buggers, we’d hit them when they thought it was over.”

Will there be a Slow Horses Season 6?
Yes! In fact, the series has been renewed through Season 7.
