Eric Trump says he plans on filing a lawsuit against MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) and anchor Jen Psaki after she raised questions about a possible conflict of interest last week on MS NOW’s The Briefing With Jen Psaki.
In her Briefing monologue on Wednesday, Psaki shared Financial Times reporting about Eric joining his father, President Donald Trump, on a state visit to China while a Trump-linked crypto company explored a deal with a Chinese chipmaker.
According to the Financial Times, U.S. securities filings show that Eric is an “observer” on the board of the fintech company ALT5 Sigma, which has ties to the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial crypto business. Furthermore, the newspaper reported, ALT5 Sigma and the Chinese chipmaker Nano Labs have announced they’re evaluating the prospect of cooperating on artificial intelligence data centers and other AI ventures.
#BREAKING: Psaki: “Guess where Trump’s adult son @EricTrump is right now? Well, he’s with his father in China. Now, Eric Trump does NOT have a role in the U.S. government. On her show on Wednesday, Psaki noted Eric doesn’t have a U.S. government role and said he is “supposed to be sort of firewalled off from any U.S. government activities because he took over the family businesses when his father re-entered the White House, supposedly to prevent conflicts of interest, but there he is.”
On social media, Eric threatened legal action. “I intend to sue @jrpsaki and @MSNOWNews over the below clip,” Eric wrote on X on Friday, sharing that segment from Psaki’s program.
He added: “Contrary to her monolog and blatant lies, I have NEVER been on the board of ALT5 — not now, not ever. Any person with basic access to Google and willing to open a company’s annual report or proxy statements would know this. I have had zero involvement in any merger discussions involving any public entity I do not run or control. I have zero business interests in China. No properties, no investments, nothing!”
I intend to sue @jrpsaki and @MSNOWNews over the below clip. To be clear:

Eric said in the post he only joined the China trip as a “loving son” who “wouldn’t miss being by [the president’s] side for this incredible moment.” He also said that he was visiting the Great Wall of China with his wife, Lara, during the bilateral talks.
Later that day, Psaki clapped back on her show, showing Eric being introduced as an ALT5 Sigma “board member” and “director” last summer when the company rang the Nasdaq opening bell in celebration of its deal with World Liberty Financial. Psaki also noted Eric was listed as a director on the ALT5 Sigma website before being named as an observer on the board in filings.
“Eric, of course, says that he has no business interests in China at all, and that he joined his dad’s official trip there for one reason and one reason alone: as a loving son who adores his dad,” Psaki said on Friday. “I’ll let you be the judge.”
