Outlander‘s final season has officially concluded, ending Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) onscreen love story, and while the door was certainly left open for further exploration, we can’t help but wonder if Starz‘s prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, could include even more crossover in seasons ahead.
For those who don’t already know, Outlander: Blood of My Blood follows the love stories of Claire’s parents, Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry (Jeremy Irvine), and Jamie’s parents, Ellen (Harriet Slater) and Brian (Jamie Roy). While Julia and Henry’s story began in World War I England, it was revealed that they had the same time-traveling gene Claire inherited, sending them hurtling through history and landing them in 18th-century Scotland, where they’d cross paths with star-crossed lovers Ellen and Brian.
While characters from Diana Gabaldon‘s novels inspired these storylines, the prequel has taken liberties with the lore of Jamie and Claire’s ancestors, providing an exciting foundation to build new crossover paths. Following the conclusion of the flagship series, we’re breaking down five potential threads Outlander: Blood of My Blood could pick up in future episodes, especially if this really is the end of Outlander as fans know it.
Claire’s La Dame Blanche

Starz
After Claire traveled back in time to the 18th century, she earned a few different nicknames because of her penchant for healing with modern techniques that her patients wouldn’t know. At the end of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Julia and Henry were prepared to time-travel with their baby son; should they make it somewhere else in history, it would be fun for them to hear rumors about La Dame Blanche, unaware that it’s their own daughter. It would also be a fun ode to Claire’s magical healing abilities, which were seemingly confirmed in Season 8.
Follow through on Fanny’s ability
In Season 8 of Outlander, Jamie and Claire’s granddaughter, Fanny (Florrie May Wilkinson), heard a buzzy sound, and a green stone she held in her palm cracked, indicating that she could time-travel. It would be an interesting through-line if Fanny were to time-travel and cross paths with Claire or Jamie’s parents. It would also offer some closure after the introduction of that reveal, which was never further explored in Outlander.
Master Raymond’s Connection

Starz
While Claire may have met Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon) as an apothecary shop owner in Paris, the man is a time-traveler hailing from Gabaldon’s books. He resurfaced in Season 7 of Outlander after disappearing in Season 2, and fans learned more about his involvement in Faith’s survival. If he were to reemerge somewhere in Blood of My Blood, we wouldn’t be disappointed, as it feels like there’s plenty of material to uncover.
Geillis shenanigans
As another mischievous time-traveler, Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) popping up in Blood of My Blood isn’t out of the realm of possibility, and it would be interesting to see her cause some more chaos, perhaps for Claire’s parents, more so than Brian and Ellen, considering their family’s future ties with the “witch.” Despite her malicious intent, Geillis is always a fun time, and after her return in Outlander‘s seventh season, we can’t help but hope she’d be up for a Blood of My Blood turn.
Frank return
While Henry and Julia appear to be stuck in the past, what if they were to make it back to the 20th century, crossing paths with a passionate historian, Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies)… Considering their desire to reunite with Claire, it would only make sense that Henry and Julia are drawn to a point in time where she’d exist; perhaps it could be during a two-year period when she’s missing in time. If they were to suspect that their daughter went through a similar ordeal as them, perhaps they’d attempt to go through the stones again to find her, putting them back with Ellen and Brian, missing Claire once more in the process?
Only time will tell whether any of these Outlander threads will be picked up for crossovers in Blood of My Blood, but let us know your opinions and theories in the comments section below, and stay tuned for more from the prequel when it returns later this year.
