MELVIN VILLAGE — William "Bill" H.M. Truman, 62, of Melvin Village died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Saturday, August 21, 2004 from complications due to a stroke. He was married to Diana L. Truman who died Sunday, August 22, 2004.
Mr. Truman was born August 9, 1942 in Evanston, Ill., the son of Francis and Charlotte (Hinds) Truman. Mr. Truman was a 1961 graduate of Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, and graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. in 1965. He was an avid golfer and tennis player, yachtsman and loved being a private pilot.
Mr. Truman enjoyed life and his family and friends, organizing many golf outings for his golfing buddies. He had a warm, easy smile and a sharp sense of humor.
Mr. Truman was self-employed as an investor.
Survivors include his three daughters, Jennifer B.Truman of Gilford, Nicole D.T. Harding and her husband, Jeffrey, of Meredith, and Melanie B.Truman of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Madeline Truman of Orlando, Fla., and Eleanor Harding and Melanie Harding, both of Meredith; and two nephews, Edward Cummings and his wife, Rhonda, and William Cummings, all of Tucson, Ariz. Survivors also include his recently discovered birth family siblings Jackie Heddleston, Richard Barron, Ronnie Liebig and Randy Liebig. In addition to his parents, Mr. Truman was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Cummings.
Calling hours for Mr. & Mrs. Truman will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the
Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.
A Funeral Service for Mr. & Mrs. Truman will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia.
