FRANKLIN — Vernon C. Marsh, 78, of 142 North Main St., Franklin died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at his home. A life long resident he was born in Franklin on January 9, 1926, the son of Ned E. Marsh and Merle (Chadburne) Marsh.

He enjoyed doing odd jobs and was formerly employed at the former Franklin Needle Shop, Griffin Drug Store, Bunny’s Diner, and Neil’s Diner as well as Franklin High School, Franklin Savings Bank, Franklin Elks Lodge and Mojalaki Golf Club.

He helped prepare the meals for the Meals On Wheels program and received certificates of appreciation for his community service.

Vernon was a people person and his mode of transportation was his thumb. He attended St Mary of the Assumption Church, Tilton Late in life he enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Marsh was pre-deceased by two brothers, Raymond and Donald Marsh. He is survived by two brothers, Lewis and Ned Marsh of Franklin; two sisters, Dorothy Rolph of Penacook, and Mildred Marsh of Boscawen; nieces and nephews; and close friends Eleanor and Lee Wright of Franklin.

Friends and relatives may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the H.L. Young & Company Memorial Home, 175 South Main Street, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at the H.L. Young & Company Memorial Home. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. 65- 75 Chestnut Street, Franklin 03235.
