Timothy C. Howe passed away on Dec. 29, 2024, at the age of 74 after a short but courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family.

Tim is a lifelong Sanbornton resident and is survived by his wife, Valerie of 43 years; his three sons: Jeremy and longtime girlfriend Christina (Franklin), Justin and wife Abby (Sanbornton) and Kevin and wife Amanda (Fishers, Indiana); six grandchildren, Nathaniel, Zachary, Emma, Ethan, Evelyn and Elena. Brother, Richard and sister-in-law Anne (Sanbornton); his sister Deborah (Santa Monica, California) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Okie and Clayton Howe and his brother Daniel Howe.

Tim’s greatest love was his wife Valerie. His joy was spending time with his family, especially listening to his grandchildren’s laughter and high spirits.

Tim worked as a machinist at Continental Machinery for 30 years but had a love for building with wood and metal. Tim was an amazing welder/fabricator- full of ideas he could make them come to life with a hammer or metal.

Over the years he had built several homes including his own and joined in on a lot of projects with his sons. He was always willing to lend a helping hand in welding or in hay fields around his home. He could often be found reading one of his favorite history books or working on endless projects, in the summer in his garden, sawing wood in his sawmill, enjoying a round of golf in the family fields, enjoying the slopes skiing or skating on the pond in the wintertime.

Tim graduated from Franklin High School ‘68 and Plymouth State in 1972 and was a member of TKE (Tau Kappa Epsilon) fraternity. Every year he and some of the TKE brothers would meet and ski for a day at Loon Mountain.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held this summer at his family’s pond and field to enjoy the space he loved.
