CAMPTON — Sidney Berry Gore Jr. "Sonny" died on Oct. 18, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon.

Sonny was born in Sceva Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, on Aug. 28, 1946, the son of Sidney Berry Gore and Shirley E. (Gardiner) Gore.

He attended Plymouth area schools and was a “multi-sport standout.”

Sonny enlisted in the United States Navy. After serving his country, he began a career in construction that lasted nearly 50 years. Many will remember the hammer holster he proudly wore.

Sonny was a long-time member of the local Elks Lodge in Plymouth, where many familiar faces will remember him.

Sonny enjoyed many pastime hobbies and activities including golf, darts, pool and anything that presented a challenge and opportunity to compete.

He was particularly happy to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He never missed an opportunity for a holiday gathering or family event.

Sonny was quick to offer a helping hand to friends and built many friendships throughout his life. He will be missed by many.

Sonny is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Blair Cemetery, Blair Road in Campton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16.
