Ronald Joseph Natoli, 77, passed away at home peacefully on Friday morning, April 26, 2024, in Litchfield, Maine, after a sudden and brief illness.

Son of Joseph and Winifred Natoli, he was born Nov. 10, 1946, in Dover. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1964 and the University of New Hampshire at the Thompson School of Applied Science with a degree in forestry in 1967.

A true outdoorsman, he loved nature, being out in the woods, camping, the ocean, hiking in the mountains, being a beekeeper and what he loved most of all was flying, and so he became a pilot and also a flight instructor. He worked for the forestry service for several years before starting his own surveying/drafting business in Northfield/Tilton, which later expanded into Maine and Massachusetts as well.

Ronald is survived by his long-term partner, Deborah Hebert. The two of them had the pleasure of traveling to Italy, Switzerland and Mexico together. They also enjoyed many road excursions throughout New England, visiting family and friends. They spent many days on the beaches of Maine, as well as enjoying hiking, canoeing, and gardening together.

He is survived by his first wife, Debbie Dougal, and their three daughters, Lisa Natoli who is married to Bill Free, Lori Natoli and Leslie Natoli McBey who is married to David McBey. He is predeceased by his second wife, Jean Pitman (Barton) Natoli, who passed in 2005, and survived by his stepdaughters Kimberly McCann and Bethany Hague and her husband Bob Hague. Ron has six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His grandchildren are Tyler Hobbs, Brennan Hobbs, Cameron Hobbs, Tracey Natoli, Patrick McBey, Avery McBey, and great-grandchild Owen Hobbs, who is the son of Tyler Hobbs and his partner Reise.

Ron was the oldest of five boys and is survived by three brothers, Richard Natoli who lives in Syracuse, New York, Tom Natoli who lives in Port Charlotte, Florida, and Joseph Natoli who lives in Glen Falls, New York. They also had a brother Steven, deceased.

He traveled extensively throughout the United States, Russia, Israel, Greece, Italy and Turkey (to name a few places) and he was deeply interested in family genealogy. He was a true adventurer and explorer. He loved life and was full of life.

Ron was a friend to many, a quiet gentle man who spent a lot of time pondering the spiritual nature of things. He was a father, a friend, a brother, a grandfather and a partner. His passing was sudden and unexpected but quick, just like he always hoped it would be.

There is no plan for a service but please join us in celebrating Ron’s life on earth in your heart and mind. It was his wish that we laugh and reminisce and smile together during this time.
