Richard Allen Vachon, 78, of Northfield, passed away on March 4, 2025, in his home after a long illness, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1947, in Laconia, to Edmund and Marjorie (Leach) Vachon.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making things with his hands, his antique car, and taking that car to car shows. He also enjoyed making improvements to his camp in Rumney, and spending time with family and friends at his camp. He was loved by many and had many faithful visitors.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Teri (Picknell) Vachon; his daughter, Lori-Lee Ganter and her husband of Upstate New York; his son, Jeffrey Vachon and his wife Ann of Northfield; his granddaughter, Jessica Vachon, her longtime partner John Dickinson and her two sons, Richard’s great-grandsons, Foster and Rex Dickinson of Tilton; his sister, Donna Fogg, and her longtime partner Art Lambert of Northfield.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, nephew Kenneth Fogg, and brother Paul Vachon.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at American Legion Post 49, 4 Park St., Northfield.
