BELMONT — Pauline Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on March 7, 1943, in Concord, Pauline filled her life with love, laughter, and joy.
Pauline was the devoted daughter of the late Paul and Edna Scarponi and the loving wife of the late Archer F. Smith. She is survived by her two caring daughters, Roberta Coffey of Belmont and her fiancé Chuck Moretti and Donna Forst and her husband Brian Forst of Gilmanton. Pauline was the proud grandmother of Sean and Ashley Coffey of Littleton, Massachusetts; Shannon and Greg Cawood of Churchville, Pennsylvania; John and Calsey Forst of Chichester; and Jacob and Savannah Forst of Gilmanton. Her legacy continues with her adored great-grandchildren: Owen, Maeve, Mia, Caitlyn, Riley, Kit, Van, Acre, and Annastasia.
Pauline dedicated many years of service to Henry's Dry Cleaners, working side by side with her love of her life Archer since 1969 where her warm smile and dedication touched the lives of many customers and colleagues alike. Outside of her professional life, she found immense joy in tending to her rose gardens, sewing, and spending cherished coffee hours with her close friends. She spent time growing up as a kid at York Beach, Maine, which became her and Archer’s enchanted place spending every holiday weekend and vacations there.
Her presence brought warmth to all who knew her, and she leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories for her family and friends. Pauline will be deeply missed.
A graveside service to honor Pauline's life will be held at Loudon Center Cemetery in Loudon, at noon on Saturday, Nov. 16. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
Arrangements have been lovingly provided by Smart Memorial Home, smartmemorialhome.com. Those wishing to express their sympathy may do so during the service with her family and friends. Flowers may be sent to Smart Memorial Home to be displayed at graveside service.
