BELMONT — Linda Sue Trask passed away peacefully and was welcomed into her eternal heavenly home on Jan. 23, 2025. Linda was surrounded by her loving family with her soulmate and husband, Rory, by her side.

She was born on June 3, 1958, in Laconia, the daughter of Urban and Margaret “Peggy” (née Elliott) Griffiths. She was the eldest of four children. Linda grew up in the Lakes Region. A few years after graduation, she pursued a degree in early childhood education.

Linda and Rory met at their church youth group and were inseparable from that time on. They spent most of their married life in Gilford, pouring into and raising their children, and serving in their church, Living Hope – Lakeport, formerly Evangelical Baptist. They built deep relationships with several close friends. In later years they moved to Belmont, where they dabbled in hobby farming – tending alpacas and chickens. Her alpacas brought her deep joy and contentment. Rory helped Linda design a “she-shed” that allowed her to have quiet, creative time while she watched the chickens and the alpacas, and simply took time to breathe.

Linda was a devout Christian who enjoyed her calling to serve the Lord in various ministries that included teaching preschool, and serving as a preschool director at Luv 'n Learn Christian Preschool in the 1980s. However, she found her niche at Aspire Women's Center where she served as the executive director for 27 years; devoting her life to the care and welfare of women and their unborn children.

The family spent most summer weekends camping, and spent a couple of weeks each year vacationing at the ocean, on Hermit Island, Maine. However, they were most at home on their little "slice of heaven" in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where they hoped to retire one day.

Overlooking Malpeque Bay, PEI, Linda spent most early mornings sitting on the deck with her Bible and a cup of coffee in hand, breathing in the salty air and awaiting sunrise as she watched the fishermen leave the harbor.

Linda relished time spent with family and friends, and cultivated relationships as one lovingly tends a garden. On her cancer journey, she appreciated most that her friends (among them, Annie, Lisa, Gail, Terri and Theresa) surrounded her with love, laughter, prayer and support.

Linda enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing and scrapbooking. She had a quirky sense of humor, loved to sing, and would often break out in a show tune of which she could never remember all the words. She had no rhythm but loved to dance, especially entertaining her grandchildren who were the absolute joy of her life.

Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rory; her son, Kevin (Kelly) Trask; her daughter, Kelly (Daniel) Turan; her brother, David (Bonnie) Griffiths; her sister, Pamela Griffiths; and grandchildren Anna and Aiden Hall, Ava (Gabriel) Smith, Alex, Nate and Gabrianna Turan, Caleb and Benjamin Spears, and Elianah Trask; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Deborah (Griffiths) Redmond.

A memorial service for Linda will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Living Hope Lakeport, 50 Washington St., Laconia.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Aspire Women’s Center, 506 Union Ave., Laconia, NH 03246.

Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services/603Cremations.com, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, is assisting the family with arrangements. For more information and to view an online memorial, visit wilkinsonbeane.com.
