LACONIA — Laurie A. O’Brien, 55, a loving and giving individual, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2025.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, on March 14, 1970, Laurie was the daughter of Walter and Janet (Scialdone) Hutchinson. She spent her early years in Salem, Massachusetts, before her family moved to Tuftonboro, where she worked at the Country Village Motel assisting her family. The family eventually settled in Laconia, where she graduated from Laconia High School.
Known for her compassionate spirit, Laurie dedicated her professional life to helping others. In addition to working at the Country Village Motel, she served as a teacher for Lakes Region HeadStart, waitressed at Waldo Peppers, and was a caregiver for many years. Laurie had a gift to be able to fix anything. Not only was she an apprentice in her family business with her husband Pat for many years at O'Brien & Sons Electric, she also handled all the accounting.
Above all, Laurie cherished her family and her role as a loving grandmother. She was devoted to her beloved boys, going above and beyond to make them feel loved and cherished every single day. No matter what, Laurie would be there. She would show up and support anyone in need. Laurie was one person her family and friends could truly count on. She will be remembered as a devoted mom and grandmother, a beloved aunt, and a wonderful wife and daughter.
She is survived by her three sons, Brandon and his significant other Miranda Currier, William and Trevor O'Brien, all of Laconia; mother Janet Hutchinson of Belmont; brother Kevin Hutchinson and his significant other Stephanie Winter of Belmont; sister-in-law Stacy Simoneau-Hutchinson and her significant other Charles "Chas" Dewing of Gilford; niece Kyrie Hutchinson and her daughter Alyiah Kelly of Laconia; niece Katlyn, her husband Paul and daughter Paisley Robie of Laconia; and her first and only grandson, Jamason O'Brien of Laconia.
