Iona Y. Brown, 95, former longtime resident of Hill, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the Arches, Northfield.
She was born in South Cornish on June 23, 1911 the daughter of George Young and Stella (Walker) Young. She grew up in Claremont where she graduated from Stevens High School. She was employed at the Coy Paper Company, Claremont for many years.
Mrs. Brown formerly lived in Franklin, Hill and Tilton before moving to the Arches seven years ago.
She was a devoted member of the Hill Village Bible Church, Hill.
Mrs. Brown was an avid gardener and appreciated fine antiques.
She was predeceased by her husband David R. Brown on July 9, 1979 and five siblings: Dr. Christine Chadwick, Gerald Young, Richard Young, Roy Young and Harold Young.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her devoted sister, Caroline Edvinson of Claremont and her devoted cousin Lloyd Holmes of Contoocook.
Nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hill, with the Rev. Steve Whitmore, Pastor of the Hill Village Bible Church, officiating.
