LACONIA — Hollis H. Cole, 86, of 154 Tiffany Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006.

Mr. Cole was born Sept. 26, 1919 in Laconia, the son of William H. and Olive M. (McEwan) Cole.

Mr. Cole served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He lived in Connecticut for several years and was employed at the Institute for the Living in Hartford. He retired to the Lakes Region 20 years ago.

Mr. Cole was a member of the Moultonborough United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Moultonborough Lions Club and a member of the Florida Police Association. He enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Lang) Cole, of Laconia; two brothers, Howard L. Cole of Weirs Beach and John P. Cole and his wife, Phyllis, of Laconia; two sisters, Lillian O. Fralick of Belmont and Dorothy M. Rice of Tilton; many nephews and nieces and many grandnephews and grandnieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William R. Cole in 1972 and by two sisters, Marguerite Pickering in 1993 and Marian R. Landry in 2003.

There will be no calling hours.

A private funeral service will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Labre Indian School, Tongue River Road, Ashland, MT 59004-1001.
