ALEXANDRIA — Charles K. Wood, 72, of Mount Cardigan Road, in Alexandria, passed on Feb. 23, 2026, at Mountain Ridge Center, in Franklin.

He was born in Rutland, Vermont, on Feb. 24, 1953, the son of Kenneth and Lila (Chapin) Wood.

He spent his younger years in Rutland and Clarenton, Vermont, and has lived in this area for many years. He worked as a mechanic for John’s Auto Service and Jon Pike in Belmont. Charles served in the U.S. Navy and in his younger years enjoyed fishing.

Charles is survived by his wife of 30 years, Silvia (Ford) Wood of Alexandria; a son, Charles Wood Jr. of Laconia; a stepdaughter, Starr Middleton of Danbury; a stepson, Joshua Adams of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Zachary, Cheyanne, Devon and Amberle; two sisters, Shirley Savage and Irene Wood, both of Rutland, Vermont; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Charles' life will be at a later date. He will be buried later in the family lot in Vermont.

Arrangements are respectfully being handled by Chadwick Funeral Service, 235 Main St., New London.
