LACONIA — Holly Ann Hersey, 50, of Mile Hill Road, passed away on Feb. 23, 2026, peacefully with her husband by her side.
Holly was born on June 14, 1975, in Nashua, the daughter of Douglas and Gloria (Bathalon) Therriault.
Holly is survived by her loving husband Jason Hersey and his children Matthew Hersey and Brian Hersey; mother-in-law Linda Hersey; in-laws James and Diane Hersey and brother-in-law Nathan Hersey. Holly is also survived by her sister Christine Baker Terilli and her husband Mark Terilli and nephew Bailey Baker.
Holly enjoyed her job working at the Laconia Boys & Girls Club and was a devoted teacher of our community’s youngest learners. Holly had a special gift of helping the children to learn with activities and hands-on learning. Teaching has been her passion since high school. Her classroom was a place of patience, laughter, and steady encouragement.
Her husband would often ask her which was harder, teaching 2-year-olds or dealing with him. Holly would just smile without giving an answer.
Holly enjoyed the beautiful outdoors that New Hampshire has to offer. She loved hiking and fishing, or trips to the family cottage up north and also to the ocean, and her favorite was sitting by the campfire camping with her husband, family and friends. Holly was always ready to take another adventure.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
