Cecile E. Clarenbach, 95, of Brecksville, Ohio, died March 9, 2024. She leaves behind a loving family and many friends in the community.
Cil was born on April 3, 1928, in Franklin, to the late Rosario and Aurore (Vigneault) Robichaud. Cecile graduated from Franklin High School in 1946 and worked as a bookkeeper in various local companies until she met her future husband, Edward. They married in Franklin during a snowstorm on Dec. 27, 1952. After marrying, Cecile and Edward moved multiple times, finally settling with their two daughters in Brecksville, Ohio, in 1967. Throughout her life, Cil’s priority was her family and she was a consummate hostess for gatherings of family and friends. She entertained with joy, and always included delicious food and personal touches. Everywhere she lived she was involved in a wide variety of social and service activities, including her 57-year commitment to her church in Ohio.
She is survived by her loving daughters Beth Petti (Phil) of Naperville, Illinois, and Jane Clarenbach of Silver Spring, Maryland. She was the devoted Grammy to three grandsons, Matthew (Krystle) Petti of Denver, Colorado, Kenneth (Chonel) Petti of Boston, Massachusetts, and Cameron Petti of Chicago; and a loving GiGi to Elliot, Adelaide and Sebastian Petti (Boston) and Bryleigh Alexander (Denver). She leaves her dear sister Joan (Harry) Shanelaris of Franklin; her sister-in-law Helen of Attleboro, Massachusetts; cousins Rena Baker of Chichester, E. Richard Robichaud of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Patty Robichaud (Joe) of Franklin; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for April 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 390 Main St., North Andover, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 9549 Highland Drive, Brecksville, OH 44141 may be made in memory of Cecile.
