LACONIA — Powerhouse Theatre Collaborative’s Broadway show choir, The Power Chords, is returning for its second session of 2026, starting on Sunday, May 17. Power Chords has a core group of about 45 regular members, and is always looking for new singers to join the group.

This session presents a unique performance opportunity for the Power Chords. They will perform a pre-show set for Powerhouse’s production of “1776: The Musical in Concert,” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at the Colonial Theatre. Come learn Broadway patriotic tunes along with many other classic and more contemporary Broadway songs. No experience is required to be part of this choir, just a love of singing and meeting new people. There are no auditions for this group.

Register for the next session at powerhousenh.org/power-chords. There is a participation fee that covers the rights to the music, but sponsorships are available.

The choir rehearses on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Laconia. Those interested are also invited to come sit in on a rehearsal any time to get a taste of what the group is like.
