There's still time to buy raffle tickets for Belknap Mill's $5,000 raffle.

The winner will be drawn Friday at noon, at the same time that the winners of the Trees for the Holidays contest are announced.

The mill is selling 100 raffle tickets at $100 each. Each person who buys a ticket will receive a Christmas stocking and a chance to win the $5,000 cash prize. Tickets are for sale at the Historic Belknap Mill and at Meredith Village Savings Bank.

Immediately following the drawing and the announcements, the mill is hosting a farewell reception for its executive director, Mary Boswell, who is leaving after 19 years to work at EnfieldShaker Museum. The public is invited to this reception.

Through Dec. 22, people have the opportunity to vote for their favorite decorated tree, on view through the end of the month. Each tree has a different theme chosen by the decorators, who are competing for two $100 cash prizes. The event has three trees decorated by children's groups and eight trees decorated by adults, adult groups, and businesses. On Dec. 22, there will two $100 cash prizes awarded, one for the most favorite tree in the children's category, and one for the most favorite in the adult category. To vote for their favorite tree, visitors are encouraged to stop by and tour the first floor. Admission is free. Look for the old mill with the blue dome in downtown Laconia. Simply enter the door that faces the City Hall parking lot and enter into the lobby. A person at the front desk will direct you.

The Belknap Mill is located in downtown Laconia on Beacon Street East. The Mill is open weekdays 9-5. Call 524-8813 for additional hours.
