GILFORD — The Opechee Garden Club will be presenting a program, "My Cutting Garden", by Audrey Vargish, Master Gardener, and current President of the Sandown Garden Club, in Sandown on Monday, May 4 at 1 p.m. at the Gilford Community Church.

Vargish's power point presentation will focus on selecting the appropriate site for a garden, preparing the beds, choosing the appropriate plants for the site conditions, maintaining the garden, and finally enjoying the fresh cut flowers from the garden. This process is one that Audrey and her husband, George, experienced when they moved from New Jersey to New Hampshire in 2008, when they transformed the plain landscape of their new home into an "array of garden rooms and beds".

Hospitality Chairs, Sandy Stafford and Cindy Anderson, and their committee, Ann Woglom, Joni Stover, Simone Routhier, Nancy Leroy, Ginnie Johnson, Joyce Howe, Gloria Dublin, and Virginia West will provide refreshments and table decorations.

Opechee Garden Club is a member of the New Hampshire Federation of Garden Clubs, and the National Garden Club. The club welcomes new members.
