ALTON — The Happy Hobby Doll Club's drawing of the winning ticket for production wood doll will take place on August 24 at 11:30 a.m. in the Alton Community/Senior Center on Pearson Road in Alton.
The doll, named Betsy, is made of wood in the style of the Georgian Period (mid to late 1700s) for the Alton Bicentennial
in 1996, by Rev. Fred Laughon of Virginia. She is 15 inches tall, is peg jointed and comes with a blanket chest, chair, everyday clothing, party clothing plus many accessories all made by members of the Happy Hobby Doll Club.
Betsey and all her clothing are presently on display at the Alton Town Hall. More information is available at patalake@aim.com.
