The Mike Baron family — Danielle, Monique, Jeffrey and Zack — won the 38th Annual Piche's Family Cross Country Ski Race at Bolduc Park on Sunday. The Baron's were followed by the Schrupps, the Wunschs and the Slatterys.

Mike Baron also won the adults men's race. David Wunsch was second and Bill Slattery was third.

Eliza Durey was the winner of the adult women's race, followed by Kim Slattery and Naisa Chase.

The Baron girls — Danielle and Monique — placed first and second in the 11-14 age group race. Joe Altmise was third.

Two Slattery girls — Abby and Hannah — managed the same fete in the race for 9-10 year olds. Brandon Wunsch was third.

Tessa Schrupp was the winner of the 5-7 age group race, with the two young Baron boys — Jeffrey and Zach — taking second and third.

Over 250 skiers participated in the event, which also included demonstrations of boots and skis from Rossignol, Karhu, Salomon, Fischer and Alpina. Tubbs snowshoes were also available for trial.

Coffee, hot chocolate, chile and hot dogs were provided by volunteers and employees of Piche's Ski & Sport Shops.
