LACONIA — Laconia Adult Education is offering "FREE" Basic Math and Reading Classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

stated Mrs. Peggy Selig, Program Director.

This is a super opportunity for adult learners to improve their math and reading skills and eventually work toward a High School Diploma or HISET Certificate, said program director Peggy Selig.

On Tuesday and Thursday nights, the Reading Clinic will cover reading comprehension in the subject areas of science, social studies and literature and the arts in addition to writing and grammar skills which are pre-requisites for the HISET Exam (formerly GED).

The Adult Basic Education classes will help provide reading and math skills that people need to get a job, get off welfare, or even get a job promotion. The classes are individualized; each student progresses at his or her own pace. There are no tests and there is no fear of failing.

To enroll in the reading and math classes call the Laconia Adult Education Office at 524-5712 or stop by the Adult Education Office located in Room 805 at Laconia High School.

Those who have a friend, co-worker, or family member who would like to improve his or her reading or math skills, can call 524-5712 for more information or to enroll in the classes.
