The Laconia Savings Bank FUTURES Golf Tournament, the official developmental tour of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), will swing through New Hampshire for the second consecutive season from July 22 - 24. The event is New Hampshire’s only professional golf tournament and will be held at Beaver Meadow Golf Course in Concord.

The tournament is being presented by Havenwood-Heritage Heights and will help benefit the retirement community’s Resident Support Fund. This special fund assists those residents who have outlived their financial resources.

“We introduced the FUTURES tournament to New Hampshire last year and the level of play was exciting to witness," said Linda Normandin, President and CEO of Laconia Savings Bank. "We are proud to be the primary corporate sponsor for the tour to benefit Havenwood-Heritage Heights again this year.”

The FUTURES Golf Tour is celebrating its 25th season this year. Growing from a Tour of 20-some players from North America to more than 300 players from 29 different countries and six continents, the FUTURES Tour has experienced marked growth since its early days in 1981, as the Tampa Bay Mini Tour.

The Havenwood-Heritage Heights Trust Fund Board oversees the management of the Resident Support Fund. This fund assists those residents who have outlived their financial resources with approximately $500,000 in aid annually. The Fund relies on charitable donations to generate its revenue.

“There are a lot of reasons to get excited about this tournament and we want to thank Laconia Savings Bank for making a solid commitment to this event and our Resident Support Fund,” said Michael Palmieri, President/CEO of Havenwood-Heritage Heights. “The Laconia Savings Bank FUTURES Golf Classic is back in New Hampshire and we can expect to see the best young women golfers as they compete to play their way onto the LPGA.”

In addition to playing for prize money in which the first place finisher will earn $9,100, the top five finishers of the overall tournament will earn a spot on the 2005 LPGA Tour.
