PLYMOUTH — New Hampshire Electric Cooperative members will soon begin voting to fill three, three-year seats on the 11-member Co-op Board of Directors. Voting by Co-op members will take place from May 14 until June 10.

A field of six candidates is running for the three seats. Four candidates were nominated by the Co-op’s Nominating Committee, an independent body that reviews the qualifications of candidates and recommends those it believes would best contribute to the successful operation of the Co-op. Two candidates are running by petition, which required them to gather the signatures of a minimum of 100 Co-op members.

Nominated by the committee for election are: Bill Darcy of Benton; Brad Harkavy of Campton; Carl Knowlton of New Hampton; and Robert MacLeod of Thornton.

Running by petition are Laurel Boivin of Lee and Tom Randell of Moultonborough.

Co-op members will be receiving written statements from the candidates, along with a ballot and a postage-paid return envelope. To save time, money and resources, the Co-op encourages all members to vote securely online instead of returning a paper ballot. Each ballot mailing will include instructions for voting quickly and securely online. In addition, Co-op members will be receiving emails with secure links to the online ballot website. Members can also cast their ballots by tapping the “Vote Now” button on their SmartHub account homepage.

Co-op members have until Wednesday, June 10, to return their completed paper ballot or cast their electronic ballot.
