BRISTOL — On Saturday, Sept. 30, the New Hampshire Marathon will weave through the communities amongst a backdrop of almost peak foliage, as the Tapply-Thompson Community Center also changes seasons in welcoming in a new school year.

This year’s 30th annual marathon helps support three local nonprofit organizations, the Mayhew Program, the Circle Program and Tapply-Thompson, and volunteers are needed to help. For more information, email race@nhmarathon.com or call 603-744-2713.

Volunteers are also needed for the school year to help with special events, fundraisers and programs for people of all ages, with a specific need for help  Friday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., peeling apples and preparing pies. 

The 40th annual Apple Festival and Craft Fair will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the fair in the TTCC gym. Table space is available for local artists and craftspeople.

Homemade apple pies, baked beans and fresh bread can be pre-ordered by calling 603-744-2713 or by visiting ttccrec.org.
