The 1st Congregational Church of Meredith is collaborating with youth groups from several communities who are coordinating and hosting an inter-generational food packaging event Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. Families are invited to participate in packing 10,000 meals at the Congregational Church of Laconia, located at 18 Veterans Square in Laconia.

The meals will be distributed to people who are hungry, and participating groups can designate some of the meals to serve local food banks, soup kitchens and shelters. Many hands make light work, so 30 volunteers are needed for approximately two hours to pack the 10,000 meals. For those who can't participate in person, but would like to support the event, donations by check can be made to the 1st Congregational Church of Meredith, located at 4 Highland St. in Meredith, with "Ending Hunger" in the memo line.

Questions can be answered by Rev. Peter Lovett at fccmeredithpastor@gmail.com or by calling the church office at 603-279-6271. More information can also be found at www.OutreachProgram.org, under the "Host an Event" tab.
