MEREDITH — Docents familiar with the background of the sculptures in Meredith village will lead tours of the Meredith Sculpture Walk this summer. There are 25 new pieces displayed, with seven returning pieces from last year. Docents will share the creative process of the artists during sculpting as well as materials and construction. In its eighth year, the tours are an opportunity to learn about the public art installed in the sculpture walk. Sponsored by the Greater Meredith Program, the walk is committed to developing awareness and enjoyment of public art for residents and visitors, in a year-round, outdoor, juried exhibition.
Tours start in front of Innisfree Bookshop in Mill Falls Marketplace on Wednesdays through Sept. 22. Fall tours and special group tours can be arranged by emailing GMP@greatermeredithprogram.com or calling 603-279-9015.
