BELMONT — Richard “Rick” Patrick Clark-Patten, 61, of Durrell Mountain Road, passed away on Oct. 2, 2026.

Rick was born on March 17, 1965, in Laconia, the son of Edwin Huckins and Jeanette (Condon) Huckins.

He worked in construction alongside his brother at W&P Contracting. Rick was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life and the experiences that brought him together with the people he loved. He was an avid NASCAR fan and could often be found watching a race and cheering on his favorite drivers. His love of anything loud, fast, and exciting also drew him to demolition derbies, where he enjoyed the action and excitement.

Rick always looked forward to fair season. Whether it was taking in the sights, enjoying the food, watching the events, or simply spending time with family and friends, the fair was a place that brought him happiness and created many great memories.

He also loved camping and the opportunity it gave him to slow down, spend time outdoors, and enjoy the company of those around him. Some of Rick’s happiest moments were the uncomplicated ones — a campsite, a race on TV, 25 oz curls, watching birds, a day at the fair, or an afternoon working on the demolition derby car.

Rick will be remembered for the things that made him smile, the memories he created with those around him, and the time he shared with the people who mattered most. Those memories will continue to be treasured by his family and friends. He always said that he would live forever, so think of him often.

Rick is survived by his wife, Laronda Clark-Patten, whom Rick was very proud to be married to for over 32 years; sons Alex Ray, Schuyler Clark-Patten and his wife Brianna, and Alastair Clark-Patten and his wife Dominique; grandchildren Kyle, Gavin, Evan, Kiara, Riley, Willow and Grace; and two nephews. Rick is predeceased by his daughter, Jillian Ray, and brother, Joe Huckins.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Laconia Rod & Gun Club, 358 S. Main St., Laconia.

Forever and forever, always and always, bunches and bunches, lots and lots.
