GILFORD — The May meeting of the Opechee Garden Club will be held on Monday, May 6, at the Gilford Community Church on Potter Hill at 1 p.m. This meeting’s speaker is club member Laurie Johnson. This presentation will include information about flower growing and gathering, methods for pressing flowers, and design techniques and tips, including sample botanicals.
Johnson is an avid gardener and floral artist working with flowers for over 40 years, her garden was featured on the 2022 Garden Tour. Following her retirement from public education, Johnson built a retirement home surrounded by gardens that provide a source of flowers for her botanical creations.
