MEREDITH — The Winni Players, the community theater wing of the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, will present the beloved classic musical “My Fair Lady” from Nov. 19-23, featuring a cast of two dozen talented local performers.
“My Fair Lady” is the story of Cockney flower-seller Eliza Doolittle who is taken under the tutelage of linguist Henry Higgins. Along with his friend Colonel Pickering, Higgins sets out to turn her into a proper lady just in time to trick the guests at the Embassy Ball. With unforgettable songs such as “Get Me to the Church on Time,” “On the Street Where You Live,” and “I Could Have Danced All Night,” ”My Fair Lady” is one of the most loved musicals of all time.
The Winni Players production is directed by Cory Lawson, the Playhouse’s director of education and community engagement. It has music direction by Christine Chiasson and choreography by Margaret Fair.
This family favorite features a cast of 24 including Anna Cook (“Fiddler on the Roof,” and “The Ferryman”) as Eliza Doolittle, Rick Morten (“Matilda the Musical”) as Henry Higgins, Brendan Berube (“The Ferryman,” and “August: Osage County”) as Col. Pickering, and local radio personality Pat Kelly as Alfred P. Doolittle.
Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. For more information, visit winnipesaukeeplayhouse.org.
