TUFTONBORO — The Wolfeboro-Tuftonboro Democrats will host former State Sen. Jeanne Dietsch for a public presentation and discussion on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tuftonboro Library.
The talk, “Who Are the Free Staters?,” will examine the Free State Project, a movement that selected New Hampshire in 2003 as the destination for thousands of liberty-minded activists seeking to influence public policy and reduce the role of government.
Dietsch, a former tech entrepreneur who has spent the last five years researching the FSP and related organizations, will discuss the movement’s influence on New Hampshire government and public policy.
The topic has particular relevance as voters consider candidates on the November ballot. Dietsch will discuss these local connections as well as the movement’s positions on public education, property taxes, local government, energy, and public services.
The event is free and open to the public and will conclude with questions and community discussion.
