LACONIA — The Laconia 4th of July Committee and the Laconia Parks & Recreation Department have announced the Independence Day Celebration will be held this year on Sunday, July 3. The reason for the date change from the 4th is due to fireworks scheduling. Fireworks are in high demand this time of year and the city is fortunate to be having not just one show, but two.

The celebration will be like years past with a parade, bands, vendors and fireworks. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. from the Laconia High School and end at Opechee Park.

The bands will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Opechee Park and will play until 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.

Note, that there will be another round of fireworks that night at Weirs Beach at 11:59 pm.

Anyone interested in participating in the parade or being a vendor may contact parks@laconianh.gov for a form to be sent to you.
