MEREDITH — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of semifinalists in their annual program. Janney Halperin of Inter-Lakes Middle/High School in Meredith, was among this esteemed group of students to earn the semifinalist designation.
Based initially on the 2020 PSAT/NMSQT test, Janney and the other semifinalists now have the opportunity to continue in the process to apply for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.Â
