LACONIA — Hannaford Supermarkets and its customers recently raised more than $900,000 to support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across New England and New York, including $262,000 for hunger relief efforts in New Hampshire.
The 16th edition of the Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger program delivered the equivalent of more than nine million meals or nearly 11 million pounds of food to regional food banks and local pantries in the communities where Hannaford operates stores.
“As a grocery retailer, we believe it’s our responsibility to nurture our communities,” said Sherri Stevens, community relations manager for Hannaford Supermarkets. “The Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger program makes it as convenient as possible for our customers to join us in this effort. We extend our sincere gratitude to the many customers who contributed to this year’s campaign.”
