BRISTOL — The newly-formed Bristol Town Democratic Committee recently held a fundraiser that raised $750 in support of the Tapply-Thompson Community Center, a longstanding recreational and community resource serving Bristol and the surrounding area.
On Friday, Feb. 13, committee members delivered the proceeds of the fundraiser to Les Dion, recreation director of the Tapply-Thompson Community Center.
Karen Bemis, chair of the Bristol Town Democratic Committee, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to support the center’s work.
“We are very pleased to support this outstanding program in our town and proud of the staff who dedicate their time and effort to making Bristol a strong and inclusive community for people of all ages,” Bemis said. “The Tapply-Thompson Community Center provides opportunities that not all towns are fortunate to have, and we are happy to help advance its mission of inclusion and community engagement.”
Les Dion welcomed the contribution and emphasized its importance to ongoing programming.
“We are grateful for the support of organizations like the Bristol Town Democratic Committee,” Dion said. “Contributions such as this help ensure that our programs continue to expand their positive impact on the Town of Bristol and the neighboring communities we serve.”
