LACONIA — Lakes Region Community College recently shared 100% of the third graduating cohort from the paramedic certificate program has passed the Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic exam on the first attempt. Students have six chances to pass the test. Passing the NREMT Paramedic exam shows students are qualified and ready to fill local workforce demand.
“A 100% pass rate is a significant achievement that underscores the quality of LRCC’s paramedic program. It is a testament to the rigorous curriculum and the dedication of both students and faculty to meet New Hampshire’s critical workforce needs for highly skilled, compassionate emergency responders,” said Patrick Cate, president of LRCC.
LRCC’s one-year paramedic program was recently certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The accreditation confirms LRCC’s program meets the stringent quality assurance standards established by CAAHEP.
“Employers seek graduates of CAAHEP accredited programs because they can be confident in the quality training that students receive. The education that they received through our accredited program and our students’ pass rate on the NREMT has opened doors to enhanced job opportunities for our graduates and a fast track to meeting New Hampshire’s need for more paramedics,” said Todd Robinson, lead instructor and associate professor of Fire Science and Emergency Services at LRCC.
“Watching this third cohort perform flawlessly on the national exam has been incredibly gratifying. They are prepared, professional, and ready to make an immediate, lasting impact in their new roles with fire departments, private EMS services and hospitals,” said Ali Frates, co-instructor and assistant professor of Fire Science and Emergency Services.
LRCC’s paramedic program ensures there is a steady stream of locally trained first responders to meet the growing need for individuals with these skills in the Lakes Region and beyond. LRCC remains dedicated to expanding capacity and reducing financial barriers for students through programs such as the Paramedic Emergency Medicine Initiative, which helps make this life-changing career pathway accessible with grant funded tuition assistance.
