SANDWICH — Air Force Airman Alison M. Haight of Sandwich graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas in December 2021. She achieved honor graduate status and a rank of E3. Her flight achieved top recognition for academic excellence and physical fitness. Airman First Class Haight is completing Technical School training as an airborne mission specialist. Her first duty station will be Offutt Air Force Base. She is a 2018 graduate of Inter-Lakes High School where she was a three sport athlete including 2018 Div. III Nordic Team Champions. Her high school recognitions included NHIAA Scholar Athlete Award, Principal's Sportsmanship Award, Excellence in U.S. History I and National Technical Honor Society. She earned an associates degree in precision machining & manufacturing technology from Southern Maine Community College. At age 12, she became a Cadet in the Civil Air Patrol- Hawk Composite Squadron based in Laconia. She served as the squadron’s first sergeant, awarded the General Billy Mitchell Award which involves the completion of the first eight achievements of the cadet program and a comprehensive 100-question examination covering leadership theory and aerospace topics. Civil air patrol activities included Future Leaders Camp at Norwich University, Red Horse Civil Engineering Camp, Cadet Commander at Red Horse Civil Engineering Camp at Tyndall Air Base, Ground Team Member 1- Search & Rescue, and attained rank of C\2D LT(2nd Lieutenant). She is the daughter of Randall and Joanne Haight of Sandwich. She is the fourth generation of her family to serve in the United States Military and committed to a six year enlistment.
