Zoo penguins have been pictured playing in ice to keep cool during the heatwave - thanks to donations from local fishmongers.
The penguins at Edinburgh Zoo were given extra ice, as temperatures rose to 24°C in the city, thanks to a weekend heatwave that will see Scotland hotter than Rio de Janeiro.

With expected highs of 30°C on Saturday, the heatwave is expected to affect most of Scotland, lasting until at least Monday.
To help cope with the heat, staff at Edinburgh Zoo treated their King, Gentoo and Rockhopper penguins to heaps of ice - generously donated by local fishmongers.

Staff took wheelbarrows full of ice into the penguins' enclosure, as the birds were spotted rolling and playing in the ice in attempts to keep cool.
Edinburgh Zoo says they regularly treat their penguins to deliveries of ice, which are all the more important in the hot weather.
