SANBORNTON — In a rare opportunity to hear music composed specifically in the trio format of violin, cello and organ, Sanbornton Congregational Church will host a recital on Friday, May 30, at 7 p.m.

Opening the program will be the “Organ Concerto in G Minor, HWV 291” by Georg Frederick Handel (1685-1759). Next heard will be an obscure early 20th-century French work, “Cantilene,” by Lucien Niverd (1879-1967).  Finally, the centerpiece composition for this recital will be “The Suite for Organ Trio, Op. 149” by Josef Rheinberger (1839-1901).

In addition to Laura Belanger, organist at Sanbornton Congregational Church, artists Sai-ly and John Acosta, will be featured in this program. The Acostas arrived in New Hampshire recently coming from the southern California area. Both were very active with orchestras and ensembles there and now are in demand throughout New England. It will be a joy having them join with Laura in recital as we showcase our beloved organ.
