ALTON ― The public is invited to hear Dr. Chris Gnanakan, professor of theology and global studies at Liberty University, speak at New Hope Chapel (formerly Community Church of Alton) in Alton. 

Gnanakan’s journey has taken him from the streets of Bangalore, India, to renowned professor, and director of leadership development for Christar. He travels the world extensively to places such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, and other restricted access countries, to train ministry leaders with the Christian message. His recent trip took him to Malta Island where the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked and famously preached in A.D. 59.

Gnanakan now comes to Alton to share his story. The event will include a potluck dinner and an opening presentation from Camp Sentinel in Tuftonboro. 

The presentation will be on Saturday, April 18, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at 20 Church St. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., with the speech beginning at 6 p.m. To learn more, call 603-875-5561.
