To The Daily Sun,Â
The City of Laconia has experienced some structural barriers in its operation which have included its inability to embrace change as well as it should.
The people of Laconia have at times found it difficult to cope with the slowness of progress due to the presence of barriers because of a good ole boys system of decision-making. Under Mike Bordes as mayor, there have been increased discussions on the issues of transparency and accountability and how the council should be able to communicate clearly to the community their decision making process. Mayor Bordes has been doing a excellent job of communicating discrepancies in the way the city council conducts themselves.
Thanks to Mike Bordes, we are hearing more than ever the issues with this city council and the way they conduct their actions behind closed doors. We are tired of the good ole boys and we are still waiting for an explanation as to why a person who has only lived in Ward 5 for two months was chosen over three candidates with years of community involvement.
