Tess Smith: Consider Steve Copithorne for state representative in Alton, Barnstead

My longtime friend, Steve Copithorne, is running for the House of Representatives to represent Alton and Barnstead. I have known Steve since we were kids in Stratham. I have always found him to be caring, honest and supportive.

We both have enjoyed living in New Hampshire for many years. This enjoyment is now jeopardized as our current Legislature seems to be more interested in achieving their political goals than thinking about what is best for the ordinary citizens.

Steve is concerned that the current voucher system gives our tax money to private and religious schools that have no state oversights and this is to the detriment of our public schools. He is concerned that the minimum wage is not realistic. Steve sees that the current Legislature under the guise of cost saving is really pushing cost down onto the town’s property holders. He feels it is important that civics be taught to all students.

Consider Steve Copithorne for state representative. He believes in the New Hampshire Advantage. Consider Laura Dunham and Nancy Mitchell as they also want to find ways to make our government one that works for all.

Be informed and vote all the way down the ballot.
