To The Daily Sun,

For two years I have been a resident of an assisted living home. For two years I have asked, even begged the New Hampshire Legislature to provide inspection and protections for the elderly living in these homes. Did I get a response? No. Politicians have an election to think about, the elderly can wait. Some can, some cannot.

During the past two years I have urged the large block of elderly voters to vote. Did they? I, for the first time in my long life, did not. I moved from one city to another, which required me to re-register. Not an easy task when living in an assisted living home. The busy caregivers and young female workers did not have the time to provide an elderly person the time and information necessary to vote. Too bad — a great disappointment for me.

Do I plan on voting in the next election? Of course.
