To The Daily Sun,
Tim Lang, our current senator, likes to post about how New Hampshire ranks well nationally, and about state revenue being up this year. Those talking points don’t lower anyone’s property tax bill.
Here’s what actually happened under Tim Lang’s watch: property taxes in our district towns rose 25% since 2022. He voted no on the Lower Property Taxes Act. He voted no on more state aid for our schools. Our state is last in funding public schools, though 95% of our children attend public schools. He voted to lower the portion of the Business Profits Tax supplied for public schools, part of a long-term trend. A friend attended a public hearing on school funding, Tim Lang was overseeing the testimony, some excellent testimony was given, but Mr. Lang sat quietly and asked not one question, and then the legislation was signed despite significant testimony to the contrary. Also, he has on a number of occasions, when his proposed legislation was by all appearances likely to fail, he inserted it as an unrelated part to alternative legislation, which is legal, and it passed, so much for transparency.
I am supporting Kurt Webber because he will focus on results for our families, not talking points. Join me in voting for Kurt Webber to represent the towns of Ashland, Belmont, Campton, Center Harbor, Gilford, Holderness, Laconia, Meredith, New Hampton, Sanbornton, Sandwich and Thornton in the state Senate on Nov. 3.
